Cat Boarding Accommodation

The cattery is clean, safe and secure. It is cool and airy in the summer and heated in the winter to keep it warm and cosy.

We have recently updated the cattery buildings; the outside playgrounds have new all-weather roofs; and the sleep units have been refurbished.

At night all cats stay in an individual, purpose built unit where they eat and sleep separately from the other cats.

There are family units available for two from the same family to share. The units are clean and fully disinfected and quality litter is used.

We supply warm bedding and in the winter, if required, heat pads are supplied for extra warmth.

However, for your cat’s comfort we encourage you to bring your cat’s usual bed or something to sleep on that has familiar smells from home as we find this helps them to settle more easily especially if it is their first time staying with us.

A radio plays during the day to create a homely background sound.

Cat feeding

Your cat will be fed twice daily, breakfast and dinner, with a wide variety of fresh, tinned and dried food. We are happy to cater for “fussy” eaters so just let us know your cat’s favourite food.

If your cat requires a special diet due to an allergy or medical condition, we request that you provide this food and we will feed this at no extra charge.

Your cat will have free access to water but we do not feed milk unless specifically requested.

Exercising your cat

During the day your cat will not be confined to a cage or run but will be able to move freely around the cattery.

We have created specially designed, under cover, outside play grounds and inside play areas to offer a stimulating experience for your cat during their stay.

There are two outside playgrounds where there are tree branches to climb, cat gyms to play on and toys to chase and play with. For the not-so-energetic there are plenty of spots to sleep in the shade or bask in the sun.

We are constantly looking for different ways to entertain our cat boarders.

Pick Up/Drop Off Transportation Service

Would you like to bring your cat to Barndale to experience a country holiday but feel that you don’t have enough time to make the drive? Or on your return you’re feeling a bit jet-lagged? Then we can come and collect your cat or bring your cat home for a nominal charge based on mileage.

International/Domestic Transportation Service

Moving overseas or around the country? We can help. We can organize the travel arrangements and deliver your cat to or collect from Auckland Airport.
